Hollywood Life - Adam Levine doesn’t take his job on ‘The Voice’ lightly…and the artists on his team on ‘The Voice’ are benefiting from it. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Amy Vachal and Jordan Smith after the Nov. 23 show, and they couldn’t stop raving about their coach’s immense dedication. Check out what they said!

Being a coach on The Voice is about so much more than building a team of the right singers. As Adam Levine has proven, it’s about putting time and effort into those artists and making them the best they can be — and even nine seasons in, he’s continued to do just that. Contestants Amy Vachal and Jordan Smith dished to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about what makes their coach so great!

For her Nov. 23 performance, Amy made an interesting decision by choosing “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift to sing, but she totally rearranged the entire song to make it her own. But actually, most of the production decisions were made by her coach, which shows just how much work he puts into his team members.

“Adam came up with the song. It wasn’t on any of my lists,” Amy tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “We tried a bunch of different songs and finally he said, ‘We are doing this!’ I did start out playing the guitar, but as a piece, it didn’t fit. It was nan opportunity to play into the art piece. We collaborated, but Adam did most of the arranging and I infused some vintage feel to it.”

As for Jordan, who has been a frontrunner since Week 1 of this season, he admitted that picking what song to do this week was much more difficult than usual, but after he and Adam spent a lot of time agonizing over it, they came to the decision of Jessie J’s “Who You Are” together. The track was a perfect description of Jordan’s journey, and the fact that the Maroon 5 frontman was able to recognize that is a testament to how much time he puts into his team.

“I love the message in the song and, kind of with my trajectory on the show, it fit perfectly with my story — what I’m trying to get out of the show and represent,” he told us EXCLUSIVELY. “It’s okay to not be okay. No one is perfect. That’s what the song meant to me.” Considering both Jordan and Amy landed in the Top 10 on iTunes after Monday’s show, whatever Adam’s doing is definitely working!
