Entertainment Weekly - The last night of individual eliminations before next week’s Semi-Finals featured few surprises and one tragic performance. But, just to be clear, this entire episode belonged to Sia.
The Voice saves the Wigged One’s song for later in the evening, and opens instead with a live performance of “Locked Away” by R. City featuring Adam Levine. The fact that Carson never mentioned R. City was showing up this evening but that we were presented with a whole pre-taped package to announced Ellie Goulding’s appearance next week tells us a lot about who NBC thinks watches this show. Which is a shame because, as I learned tonight, the two guys in R. City are a blast. Their vocals may not be the stuff of reality-show champions, but these bros are having a ball on stage. Even more enjoyable to watch are Adam’s awkward attempts at dancing. He literally flees to the back of the stage whenever the guys’ parts come up, then kind of sways silently, hoping the camera never veers in his direction. I even catch him doing a “cha-ching” motion, for reasons that remain unclear to me.
Next week, the singers will all be mentored by Dolly Parton, and Blake is fanboying to beat the band. I cannot wait to see his face on Monday.

Entertainment Weekly - Making it to the Top 10 of any large competition is a big accomplishment. The Voice’s group of 10-best artists might still include some filler, but many of these singers are only improving week after week. For those who aren’t shining as brightly, their time to correct course is drawing to a close. One week from tomorrow, the Top 9 will be cut to the Top 4, banishing over half the singers from the competition in one fell swoop. It’s gonna be a doozy.
Blake gave each member of his team a guitar, again confirming he’s the cuddliest coach, Gwen cut Braiden’s hair this week…of course. She just can’t help herself and Ellie Goulding is performing next Monday!

Country Countdown USA - How close is the friendship of Blake Shelton and Adam Levine? After nine seasons of The Voice, it’s obvious that the two have become very close. Blake talked about it with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton:
“I consider him one of my best friends. I actually went and stayed with the guy when I was going through my divorce, and he was a really good friend to me during all that.
The two have been coaches on The Voice since the beginning. Lon asked if either of them have ever asked for some time off: “No, it’s just developed where Adam and I are the bookends. It’s never even come up where Adam & I aren’t there, and I would hate to step away for a season. I’ve told them if that ever comes up, I’m just gone period. We’ve figured out what people like about our relationship, and that’s the immaturity, and the fact that we can’t hurt each other’s feelings, so there’s no holds barred.”
On the surface, you don’t appear to have anything in common. What things do you share? “I think the thing that’s our bond is we come from such different worlds. I find we’ll get into conversations where we just pick each other’s brains of how we do our touring. The same with him. He wants to know if I’m really a farmer. We have these conversations, and hours go by. The thing we have in common is music. But that’s not what we’re interested in. We’re interested in ‘Why are you so weird?'”
Has anyone ever asked the two of you to do a show like CMT Crossroads, where you sing each other’s songs? “We have been approached many times from movie companies, even the network NBC has asked us to do other projects together. But we’re not going to do that. I think we’re in the perfect situation. I think if we start pushing it too far, it’ll be too much of us. Everybody’s over-thinking it. Let it just be good the way it is.”

Hollywood Life - Adam Levine doesn’t take his job on ‘The Voice’ lightly…and the artists on his team on ‘The Voice’ are benefiting from it. HollywoodLife.com caught up with Amy Vachal and Jordan Smith after the Nov. 23 show, and they couldn’t stop raving about their coach’s immense dedication. Check out what they said!
Being a coach on The Voice is about so much more than building a team of the right singers. As Adam Levine has proven, it’s about putting time and effort into those artists and making them the best they can be — and even nine seasons in, he’s continued to do just that. Contestants Amy Vachal and Jordan Smith dished to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about what makes their coach so great!
For her Nov. 23 performance, Amy made an interesting decision by choosing “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift to sing, but she totally rearranged the entire song to make it her own. But actually, most of the production decisions were made by her coach, which shows just how much work he puts into his team members.
“Adam came up with the song. It wasn’t on any of my lists,” Amy tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “We tried a bunch of different songs and finally he said, ‘We are doing this!’ I did start out playing the guitar, but as a piece, it didn’t fit. It was nan opportunity to play into the art piece. We collaborated, but Adam did most of the arranging and I infused some vintage feel to it.”
As for Jordan, who has been a frontrunner since Week 1 of this season, he admitted that picking what song to do this week was much more difficult than usual, but after he and Adam spent a lot of time agonizing over it, they came to the decision of Jessie J’s “Who You Are” together. The track was a perfect description of Jordan’s journey, and the fact that the Maroon 5 frontman was able to recognize that is a testament to how much time he puts into his team.
“I love the message in the song and, kind of with my trajectory on the show, it fit perfectly with my story — what I’m trying to get out of the show and represent,” he told us EXCLUSIVELY. “It’s okay to not be okay. No one is perfect. That’s what the song meant to me.” Considering both Jordan and Amy landed in the Top 10 on iTunes after Monday’s show, whatever Adam’s doing is definitely working!

Entertainment Weekly - America knows what it likes, and we’re sticking with it. This week’sVoice iTunes rankings were nearly identical to what we saw last during the Top 12 eliminations, and tonight’s episode also featured a very similar ending to what went down last week.
Sia is performing next week! Additionally, Adam is obviously a Korin fan. For the second time, he straight up told viewers to vote for her over the other Instant Save contender. Pharrell is down to his final team member, Madi. But we’ve got a while to go before she has a real chance of elimination.

Entertainment Tonight - It's a love fest over at The Voice – onscreen and off. ET caught up with Adam Levine and Gwen Stefani before Monday's live show, where the duo got into the Thanksgiving spirit by sharing everything they're thankful for about their fellow coaches -- with Stefani offering up an unexpected answer, to say the least.
"I'm just so grateful that I got to know Adam," she began. "It's weird because he's such a good person, he's literally so smart and he's so witty and talented and I've just learned so much." (See it in the video above -- bear hugs ensue!)
scroll down for photos and video.
OK, OK, that one's obvious -- but when Levine starts poking fun at his pal, Blake Shelton, things get interesting. "F**k Blake. I've known Blake for too long. Blake's just my buddy," he joked. "I'm just kidding. I love you, Blake! Kinda. Ish." Without missing a beat, Stefani leaned into the mic with a sweet, "I love you too, Blake. Ish."
Wait, what?!
Shelton and Stefani made their romance official earlier this month, with reps for both stars confirming that their friendship had indeed turned into something more. The duo hasn't been shy about showing their affection for each other on The Voice, either. There was that epic pre-show twirl, and who could forget Shelton's live "booty call" joke?
Still, the duo has played coy about their relationship in interviews -- until now, apparently. Before Stefani let that "L"-word slip, Levine even joked that he was only there to protect his friend from personal questions. Halfway through the interview, all bets were off.
"You screwed yourself on that one!" he teased Stefani. "I protect you and you do something like that?!" See the adorable slip-up in all its glory in the player above. Below, Shelton's other BFF, Luke Bryan, opens up about #Shefani -- and continues to make fun of Shelton! -- in an interview with ET at the American Music Awards on Sunday.

Entertainment Weekly - Several singers showed new sides of themselves tonight, in an episode full of surprising performances and on-point song choices. We now know why Pharrell’s been hiding behind his sunglasses the past two weeks: “spatula eye.” Some quick Googling reveals he sustained a black eye after a rogue spatula hit him in the face while he and his wife were goofing off in their kitchen. Adam says Blake’s outbursts during the coaches’ comments remind him of Storage Wars, a comment which Pharrell can’t stop laughing at. Everyone, take a mental note of Pharrell’s reality TV preferences.

Entertainment Weekly - The second live results show of the season didn’t feature those bloated flashbacks to past performances like last week. Instead, we got pageant questions posed to nearly every contestant and coach throughout the episode. I know that overwrought suspense is the bread and butter of these totally inflated results episodes, but hearing twelve canned, bland, and pre-planned responses to Carson’s softball queries had me bored to tears.
Every artist made it into the iTunes Top 75, and three were inducted into the Top 10 (Jordan, Jeffery, and Amy). Jordan made it all the way to the top spot by the end of the voting period.

Entertainment Weekly - Like many live shows that aired this week, The Voice began on a somber note. Carson, the coaches, and the contestants all gathered for a moment of silence in honor of the victims of the Paris terror attacks. It was a brief but powerful occasion of somberness before a night of performances, both serious and lively, began.

Entertainment Weekly - Like ripping off a Band-Aid, the coaches grit their teeth tonight and let go of 12 singers at once. Results shows on The Voice are invariably painful (favorites are sent home; coaches feel guilty; Carson gets more lines), and tonight may have been the toughest in years. Since season five, just two of the singers on each team were sent home at the end of the Playoffs, allowing the coaches to keep the majority of their performers. But, because of the comeback twist, fully half of each team was eliminated this episode. Tonight was the only night in recent Voice history that each artist, statistically, had an equal chance of staying and going.
So the comeback twist probably didn’t work as the show intended: None of the four artists made it through to the Top 12. Only Jordan and Emily Ann made it into the iTunes Top 10 before voting ended (and as of Wednedsay, Emily Ann has slipped to the eleventh spot). Closest on their heels was Madi Davis.

Entertainment Weekly - From the Blind Auditions on, there’s been a general consensus among Voice viewers that Team Adam is the standout group this season. Once Team Gwen picked up Viktor Király, its star rose as well. But Team Blake and Team Pharrell both came hard during the second live episode, and now it’s anyone’s game.
Additionally, Carson announced that last season’s winner, Sawyer Fredericks, will perform his debut single, “Take It All,” off his new four-song EP, on tomorrow’s episode. As of Tuesday night, Jordan Smith is the only Voice artist to make it to the iTunes Top 10, securing his spot. Jeffery Austin has the next-highest number of downloads, followed by Amy Vachal.

Entertainment Weekly - After eight seasons, The Voice can officially consider itself an old hand in the reality game. This show is a well-oiled machine, and it has its beats down pat. Which is why the announcement that a new wrench is being thrown into the mix, in the form of “comeback artists,” was so surprising. This season, each coach gets to bring back one singer they’d previously let go. This could be a shot at redemption for a previously underappreciated performer…or it could just be prolonging the inevitable. We’ll find out which on Wednedsay.
The first night of Lives kicks off with performances from all of Team Adam and Team Gwen, including their comeback picks (or, as I like to think of them, “zombie artists” risen from the dead). Twelve songs is a lot to pack into this show (and into a recap), and the tired call for less banter has never felt more relevant.
Considering who returned, the comebacks feel like an unnecessary distraction at this point. I like both Ellie and Chance, but I didn’t feel the show was worse without them. Thus far, there have been no mentions of Blake and Gwen’s new relationship. I don’t know which would be more awkward: jokes from Adam or the weird silence around the issue.
